I am a pastor’s wife in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. My husband and I have been married since 1996 and have been involved in ministry ever since. We have three beautiful daughters: Lydia, Emma, and Courtney. I stay busy with homeschooling and ministry.
During our first year of marriage, we were addressing “issues” with another family member. In the course of the conversation, the individual started yelling, “You better get her under your thumb, boy!” Although not funny at the time, it has become quite comical over the years, and thus the name of this website.

Dear friend and fellow pilgrim, not quite sure…well, actually I am sure finding your site was the Lord’s Providence to me. I was researching the words to the great hymn, “Day By Day…and with each passing moment, strength I find to meet my trials here…” and the words “I’m under His Thumb” leapt out from a sidebar. I felt very much “under His Thumb” with trials and thus the hymn search and now, your blog. I also am drawn to thyroid things since I am operating with a half thyroid. Years ago, I too had a nodule which was deemed, after a very long time of waiting, to be harmless (except for the fact that I was having trouble swallowing peanut butter and jelly sandwiches!). So I did not have cancer to deal with but I guess I eventually would have choked to death…! Please know that I will keep praying for you and your family, for “strength to equal your days” (Deut. 33:25b) and will keep following your writing, which has given me great Godly perspective and encouragement! The safest place for us to be truly, is “Under His Thumb”. Hug!
